Reading Goal Progress:
This month was VERY productive for me as far as reading goes, thanks to a spreadsheet that my friend Rachel created. I might give this spreadsheet its own post, detailing how it’s helped me prioritize my reading to get more done! This puts me at 64 books for the year, which is 14 books ahead of my goal of 50 and at 128%. I’m thinking I’ll probably get another 8-10 read in December, I have a few graphic novels I’d really like to get to and I have some shorter novels on this month’s TBR!

I read more books than usual in November, which was nice because I still needed to finish my GR challenge! I’m curious, how far along were you and why did you choose to DNF Future Home of the Living God?

I made it about 25% in and DNFed it because I just didn’t feel emotionally invested in the story at all. The writing itself was great, but I wanted to prioritize reading other books that captured me more. It’s definitely a book I’d consider returning to later in case it was just my mood at the time!

Oh yea, I totally understand that. At about page 48 I was really having trouble continuing, because the character relationships felt so unnatural to me. A more exciting plot point happened soon after that that made the book move along a little better for me, but I still felt there were a lot of issues by the end. I’m going to post a spoiler-type review with all the questions I had at some point when more people have read it.

Yeah [spoilers] but the only thing that intrigued me was the doctor appointment and it was over so fast and not elaborated on at all. I agree that the character relationships felt super unnatural! When she suddenly helps her sister clean her room I was so confused.

I agree! I was so bored and confused until that appointment, and then I was like whoa, what just happened?? It does get better after that but lots of moments where I thought to myself no one acts like this in real life!!
