January 2020 Wrap-Up

I mentioned this last month, BUT I started my master’s last week! I’m still finding myself with some time for reading, but not nearly as much. I’ll definitely be posting somewhat sporadically here and am going to make an effort to keep an eye on everyone else so I don’t feel too isolated from y’all! I’m studying public health and am already positive this was a fantastic decision. I’m really excited to keep learning and to move forward in my career. 🙂

  1. Thanks for the shout-out! And I’m amazed at how you managed to read ten books despite starting a master’s, consuming other media, and, judging by your pictures, actually having a life outside, too! Teach me your ways, haha :’)

    1. Omg, this comment made me laugh out loud at brunch haha. The key is that the semester didn’t start until halfway through January and the workload was quite light to start with! I can already tell February’s wrap-up will be much shorter.

  2. I’m glad your master’s focus already feels like a fantastic decision! And that you’re still finding at least a little time to read. 🙂
I really need to pick up The Body Lies and In the Dream House! And I think I’ll be starting A Crime in the Neighborhood very soon, I’m curious to compare thoughts.
I love that Percy makes SEVERAL appearances here, lol. Your month is photos is gorgeous as always!

    1. Thank you! To be fair, the semester started a few weeks into January and the workload was very light the first couple weeks. 🙂 From here on out I anticipate having much less reading time. And omg yes, I love that milkshake!

    1. I think I hadn’t mentioned it yet, but Public Health! I already work in healthcare and Public Health feels like the perfect way to incorporate social justice into that as a career.

  3. I hope to pick up A Crime in the Neighborhood soon!! Then I’ll read your review, I kind of want to go blind into it, although I’m tempted to read a few reviews before to set my expectations right?? I don’t know.

I love that photo with the rainbow on the header of your post. So lovely.

And omg I had high hopes for You Are Not Alone! Gosh, what a pity. Although the synopsis didn’t seem as interesting to me as the other two books’ did…

    1. I try to go into most things pretty blind, so I understand completely! I usually wait till I finish our buddy reads to look at everyone else’s reviews. 🙂

Thank you! It’s Gideon the Ninth, so it was the perfect book to be graced with rainbows.

I would say it’s certainly possible You Are Not Alone may work for you! I think I was feeling a little hard-to-please when I read it, haha.
