Bookworm Blogging, Weekly Wrap-Ups

Weekly Wrap – 22 Jun – 28 Jun

Hi all, I’ve decided to start doing a weekly wrap-up just for fun! I intend to use the WWW Wednesday format but will be doing these on Monday as a Monday-Sunday week makes the most sense to me.

Currently Reading

Nightmares & Dreamscapes; I started re-reading this about a month ago but have set it aside for the moment. I’m keeping it on my CR just so I remember to pick it back up again!

Supper Club; Okay, I have technically not started this yet, but will be starting it today.

Recently Finished

How to Be an Antiracist; This was a good read for learning more about racism as well as Kendi’s ideas for how to be an antiracist. 3.5 stars.

The City in the Middle of the Night; This was another part of the buddy read of Hugo nominees that Hadeer set up with a few other people on Twitter. I didn’t get along as well with this one, but I still liked it. 3 stars.

Up Next

This depends pretty strongly on the holds that come in next from my library, so we’ll see! But the following seem likely:

Lolita; My hold for this just came in; I was inspired to read it after My Dark Vanessa.

Beach Read; I got an ARC of this from Netgalley last week and decided to pick it up next since it’s already out.

Let me know how your weeks went, hopefully well!

  1. Ooh, good luck with Lolita! That’s a difficult read for sure, though I don’t remember feeling nearly as bothered by it at the time as I was by MDV this month. Beach Read would probably make a nice counterbalance!

    1. i feel like my knowledge that MDV was based off the author’s experiences really made it more hard-hitting! Lolita will probably be easier in comparison but i’m interested in seeing the connections since it was referenced so much.
